Shipping Policy

We offer various shipping options via UPS and USPS to the 48 contiguous United States. Items with special shipping requirements, such as extra heavy or oversized items, will be charged additional shipping during the checkout process. Expedited shipping options from UPS will be available in the shopping cart at additional cost.  

If you require a different carrier or have a special request, please contact us PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER to make necessary arrangements.

We do not charge a handling charge. Your shipping charges are calculated based on weight and distance the items will be shipped. Shipping charges are non-refundable. CKTL is NOT responsible for any package that is lost, stolen, or damaged during the shipping route.

International Shipping Policy

It is your responsibility to make sure the products you have ordered will be allowed entrance into your country. Please contact your local customs office for confirmation. CKTL is NOT responsible for product seized or confiscated by customs en route to you.

You are solely responsible for the cost of duties, customs, tariffs, import fees or other costs associated with your order.

Orders shipped outside of the 48 contiguous United States are usually shipped via the U. S. Postal Service (USPS) and extra shipping charges will apply. Shipping charges are non-refundable. CKTL is NOT responsible for any package that is lost, stolen, or damaged during the shipping route.

Shipping Methods offered by Central Kentucky Tack and Leather:
USPS – Priority Mail 1, 2, 3 business days
  • Time for shipment delivery will vary depending on where the destination is. Priority Mail does NOT have any delivery guarantees. Delivery dates are estimated in the cart during checkout (per the USPS estimation), the postal service has 5-7 business days to deliver any Priority Mail package. (Please keep in mind during high volume times, USPS withholds the right to extend days needed for delivery.)
USPS – Priority Express
  • This is a shipping service guaranteed by the USPS, not CKTL. Depending on the option chosen this can be 1, 2, or 3 business day delivery. Express service is only available for Domestic service, and may require more time for shipping for Alaska and Hawaii.
USPS – First Class Package International Service
  • This service is only available for International shipping. A tracking number will be given, however this service does not have tracking once the package is outside of the United States. USPS also does not give an estimated time for delivery with this service.
USPS – Priority International Service
  • Priority International Service offers a tracking number at the time of shipment, that can be used until the package arrives at its destination (even outside the US). Priority International has an expected delivery of 6-10 business days, but this can vary depending on the time of year as well as the destination.
UPS – Ground (Domestic Shipping)
  • UPS Ground service has a tracking number available at the time of shipping. Service usually takes 2-5 business days for delivery, but may take longer depending on destination and the time of year.
UPS – 3 Day Select (Domestic Shipping)
  • This service allows the shipment to arrive on the third business day, from shipment date.
UPS – 2nd Day Air (Domestic Shipping)
  • This service is guaranteed by UPS only, not CKTL. Shipment will arrive by the end of the second business day, from the shipment date. *Exclusions include Alaska and Hawaii.
UPS – Next Day Air (Domestic Shipping)
  • This is guaranteed by UPS, by the end of day, following the shipment date. *Exclusions include Alaska and Hawaii.

How Soon Will I Get My Order?

Product Orders - Orders placed by noon, Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard/Daylight Time will be shipped that SAME day if all items are in stock. Orders received after noon will be processed and shipped the next business day. Orders placed Saturday or Sunday will be processed and shipped the following Monday.

Leather Shop and Custom Engraving Orders - Most orders will ship within 5-7 business days from order receipt. However, some custom orders and orders received during high volume times of the year (i.e. Thoroughbred sales and Christmas) may take additional time for completion – remember our leather goods are all handcrafted and made to your specifications, they are not mass produced! We will notify you when your order is processed (or received by us) and when your order has been shipped.


Minimum Order Charge

We will apply a $5.00 minimum order charge to any order totaling less than $45.00. As soon as your order has reached $45.00, the $5.00 charge will be automatically removed from your shopping cart. 



We will notify you by email and/or telephone as soon as we know if any portion of your order is backordered. You can then decide whether you want to keep or cancel that item.


Product Information

We reserve the right to upgrade or change products, descriptions and prices without notice. Photographs may not be an exact representation of the item and options.


Returns & Exchanges

All returns and exchanges must be made within 10 business days of the date on your sales receipt. Pre-paid items must be returned or exchanged within 10 days of receipt of product. We do not accept returns on custom leather orders and custom engraving orders. However, if the error is our mistake we are more than happy to work with you to correct it. We are unable to accept products that have been opened, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We understand that sometimes custom products may need to be exchanged, whatever the reason is we would like to help. All restocks will incur a $20.00 fee for each item being restocked. The buyer is also responsible for any freight charges that may occur (if shipping is necessary).  Exchanges may also be made in store to avoid shipping expenses.
In order to participate in our re-stocking program, please notify our store of your intent to send the product back via email (sales@centralkentuckytackandleather.com ) or phone 859.299.TACK. After the store has been notified, please place your item(s) within a package and mail with a tracking number. CKTL is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damages that may occur during shipment.  Also within your package we ask that you place your contact information (name, phone number, return address), as well as the changes (size, color, hardware, etc.) that you would like to make for your new product(s).
Please be advised that exchanges will have a processing time of 5-7 business days, plus the time need to ship the item(s) back to buyer. Exchanges that cannot be resold as new for any reason, will be refused and returned to the buyer within 4-6 business days at the buyer’s expense.


Privacy Policy

During the online checkout process we collect your name, email, billing address, shipping address, phone number and credit card information. Your privacy is important to us and the use of your information is limited to processing your order and when needed, to contact you regarding the status of your order. We may also use your purchase info to determine sales trends (such as product "best sellers") and other analyses to provide better service to you. Your information is stored on a secure server and is not shared with outside parties.

When you choose to join our mailing list, we may use your information to send you news updates, sales promotions, events, contests, customer surveys or other similar happenings. Again, we will not share your information with outside parties.
